The Bloomfield 4wd Tour
Take part in one of the most wild and beautiful road trips Queensland has to offer. Enjoy a pristine coastline on one side of the road and the world's oldest rainforest on the other.
We'll start our journey in Port Douglas and head north to cross the Daintree River by ferry to immerse yourself through the 165-million-old Daintree Rainforest. After a few minutes you will be able to look left and see Cape Kimberley. A deserted tropical beach stretching out to the river mouth, with Wonga Beach in the distance.
At that point you will be inside the Cape Tribulation tropical rainforest enjoying its flora and fauna and hopefully running beside a Cassowary on the way.
We'll say goodbye to the sealed road to cross Emmagen Creek and enjoy some 4WD action with steep and rough sections of the road when heading to Wujal Wujal, an aboriginal community in the rainforest. We'll stop at Wujal Wujal Falls, which is a culturally significant location for the community.
We'll stop at the Lion's Den Hotel to visit and experience a unique and special pub before going to the northmost point of our trip to visit the Black Mountain national park to view the impressive black granite boulders and learn about the mysterious legends of the mountains.
We will complete the loop by heading back to Port Douglas inland through the Mulligan Highway via Savannah Way.
